A festival with tradition and diversity

The supporting program for the 24 wine and culinary stands begins on Friday with a reception in front of the town hall of the wine town of Leibnitz. Afterwards, our Wine Queen Sophie I and the Styrian Wine Highnesses Marlene and Katrin ceremoniously open the 54th Styrian Wine Week.

After an exuberant Saturday night, visitors can look forward to the large hobby artists’ market in Marenzipark on Sunday. This is accompanied by culinary delights such as a gourmet breakfast from the farmers’ wives and a kernel oil feast for a good cause at Round Table 12. Monday’s “Business Day” is all about good conversation and offers a traditional costume and fashion show presented by Heimatwerk. Gössl, “Steirisches Weinlaub Dirndl” Maria Ertler, Trachttendoktor and A G’wand vom Land.

Music and culture: a diverse program

The cultural framework is created by numerous music groups, which provide musical variety with different styles. Traditionally, the Stadtkapelle Leibnitz opens the festival with a march across the main square. This is followed by performances by eXcite – Steirisch brennt, the Saggautaler Power, Steirische Tanzboden Musi and many other artists. The crowning finale on Tuesday was Lolo & die Spritzweintrinker – The Pumpkins, who presented their exquisite tasty pieces of music history in an unmistakable way.
